Price

£65.00

Juglans regia, commonly known as Persian Walnut or English Walnut, is a deciduous tree native to the mountain ranges of Central Asia. It typically grows to heights of 12-20 meters with a broad, spreading crown. The compound leaves are dark green, turning yellow in the fall. In spring, inconspicuous flowers appear, followed by edible nuts encased in a green husk. Persian Walnut is valued for its timber, edible nuts, and ornamental value. It is often planted as a shade tree in parks, gardens, and orchards. Persian Walnut prefers well-drained soil and full sun.

Planting

When planting, select a location with enough space for the tree to reach its mature size. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Loosen the soil around the planting area and carefully remove the tree from its container or burlap wrap, ensuring not to disturb the roots excessively. Position the tree in the center of the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Backfill the hole with soil and water thoroughly. Apply a layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Care

Regular watering during the tree's establishment period is essential. Pruning may be necessary to remove dead or damaged branches.
