Pinus sylvestris, commonly known as Scots pine, is an evergreen conifer with an open crown and orange-brown bark. It produces long, slender needles that are bluish-green in color. The tree is tolerant of poor soils and harsh conditions, making it suitable for urban environments.

Planting
Choose a planting location with well-drained soil and full sun.
- Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball.
- Place the tree in the hole and backfill with soil.
- Water thoroughly after planting and regularly thereafter, especially during dry periods.
- Apply mulch around the base of the tree to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Care
- Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased branches and shape the tree.
- Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer.
- Protect young trees from browsing animals.
- Monitor for pests and diseases, and treat as necessary.

Delivery
We offer free delivery on all orders but the method and timeline for delivery varies according to the size of plants ordered:

Smaller Trees and Hedging Stock (up to 5 litre pots):
are dispatched twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using DX for next-day delivery. Once your order is scheduled for dispatch, you will receive a notification confirming the delivery date. -
Larger Trees (above 5 litre pots) require special handling and we arrange a two-man delivery service to ensure your order arrives safely. Once your delivery is scheduled, you will receive a notification with the expected delivery date.

Please note, larger trees are available for delivery from late October onwards, but where stock is shown as available you can place your order now to secure stock.
